VISA INFORMATION
A1 Visa Exemption
If you’re a citizen of one of the eligible countries, you may visit Indonesia without a visa using the A1 Visa Exemption. This visa-free entry is designed for short-term visits, including tourism, family visits, attending meetings, exhibitions, seminars, or even just transiting through Indonesia.
Visa Type Details
The A1 visa exemption is a single-entry permit that allows travelers to enter Indonesia for a stay of up to 30 days from the date of arrival. This visa cannot be extended and cannot be converted into any other type of stay permit. It’s a simple, fast, and cost-free option for short visits.
Length of Stay
With the A1 visa exemption, you can stay in Indonesia for a maximum of 30 days. The 30-day period starts on the day of your arrival and cannot be extended under any circumstances.
Cost
One of the biggest advantages of this visa exemption is that it’s completely free. There are no government fees (PNBP) required for either the visa arrangement or the verification process. That means:
- Visa exemption cost: IDR 0
- Verification fee: IDR 0
Visa Application Process
On Arrival
If you choose to apply upon arrival, simply present your passport (valid for at least 6 months) along with a return ticket or onward ticket at the immigration checkpoint. No pre-registration is needed. This process applies to most travelers, except for specific categories like ship crew.
Pre-Arrival (Online Option)
Eligible travelers also have the option to apply online via evisa.imigrasi.go.id. Just complete the form and upload your documents. Once approved, you’ll receive an electronic entry sign, which also functions as your stay permit and can be used at autogates in immigration checkpoints.
